All community club competitions, carnivals, selection trials and training sessions are to be postponed up to and including Friday, 1 May 2020 to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Below is the content of an email we’ve received from the NRL regarding community rugby league. Scots will be following the guidelines of the relevant authorities and will be providing updates as they become available via this website and our Facebook page.
To our valued Community Rugby League Participants,
The National Rugby League (NRL), in partnership with State governing bodies, has postponed all Community Club Rugby League in Australia until at least the first weekend of May.
The postponement includes all junior and senior Community Club Rugby League competitions, training, representative fixtures, gala days and future League Stars programs.
The decision to suspend community rugby league activities immediately has been made after widespread consultation to assist in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The decision to pause all aspects of Community Rugby League activities in Australia has not been taken lightly. Community Rugby League is the foundation of our game and we are committed to seeing it flourish, however the health and well-being of our participants, volunteers and communities is our priority.
Whilst you can’t be in the stands or on the field right now, we can still hear you, we can still see you. Wear your colours, send your favourite player a message of support, and most importantly check in with your teammates.
We look forward to our Community Rugby League participants returning to the game as soon as expert advice deems it appropriate.
